Which Foods Promote Healthy Skin?

1. Avocados

High in healthy fats that are contributors to healthy skin (1), they also contain nutrients which will protect your skin from the sun (2). The antioxidants come from vitamins A, C, and E.

2. Green Tea

Your skin is made up of mostly water, so staying hydrated is essential. Green tea is one of the best ways to hydrate since it contains antioxidants, and may also protect your skin from UV rays (3).

3. Tomatoes

Tomatoes are a great source of vitamin C, and the photochemical lycopene. Lycopene is known to protect the skin against damage from the sun because it can eliminate free radicals, and may prevent wrinkles (4).

4. Sweet Potatoes

Rich in vitamin C and beta-carotene which is converted to vitamin A; these antioxidants act to help block the UV rays from sunlight. Make sure to eat the skin for the most benefit.

5. Salmon
